CuteTube Terms of Use
Effective: 3 October 2026 · Version 1
These terms apply to the CuteTube desktop app ("CuteTube", "the app"). You accept them when you install or first open the app. If you don't agree, don't install or use it.
1. What CuteTube is
CuteTube is free, open-source software that runs on your own computer. It shows websites such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok in a built-in browser, hides ads, and saves videos and photos to your computer. There's no CuteTube account or online service: the app doesn't connect you to anything run by us.
2. License
CuteTube's source code is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 only (GPL-2.0-only). The full text is in the LICENSE file that comes with the app. The GPL gives you the right to use, study, share and change the software. These Terms don't take away any right the GPL gives you. Third-party components keep their own licenses, listed in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md.
3. Your responsibility for what you download
- Only download content you have the right to download: your own content, content whose owner has allowed it, content in the public domain or under a license that allows it, or uses your local law permits (for example, private copies where that is legal).
- Copyright. Most videos and photos are protected by copyright. You must not use CuteTube to infringe copyright, for example by sharing, re-uploading or selling content you don't own.
- The sites' own terms. YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and other sites have their own terms of service, and some of them forbid downloading or ad blocking. Using CuteTube doesn't change the agreement between you and those sites. You're responsible for following them, and any consequence (such as a site limiting or closing your account) is between you and that site.
- Other people's privacy. Respect the privacy of people who appear in content you save, and don't use the app to collect personal data about others.
- Lawful use only. You must not use CuteTube for anything that is illegal where you live.
4. Your accounts
You may sign in to sites inside the app. You type your details directly into the site's own sign-in page, and the sign-in is kept on your computer the same way a web browser keeps it (see the Privacy Policy). You're responsible for your accounts and for the activity in them.
5. Not affiliated
CuteTube is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google, YouTube, Meta, Instagram, Facebook, ByteDance or TikTok. Their names and logos are trademarks of their owners and appear in the app only to show which site you're using.
6. Changes to sites
Sites change often, and a change can stop some CuteTube features from working until the app or its downloaders are updated. CuteTube checks for downloader updates automatically (you can turn this off in Settings). We don't promise that any feature will keep working.
7. No warranty
CuteTube is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. See sections 11 and 12 of the GPL.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the authors and contributors of CuteTube aren't liable for any damages or losses from using or being unable to use the app. That includes lost data, account restrictions, and claims made by third parties about content you downloaded. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
9. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the app shows the new version and asks you to accept it before you continue. The version and date are at the top.
